UltraRendu review
UltraRendu V2.8 offers further performance improvements over the groundbreaking microRendu. It is in a larger enclosure that perfectly matches the Uptone LPS-1.2, although it may be used with many other power supplies.
UltraRendu remains as an Ethernet input and USB Audio output. All connectors are now located on the rear of the unit for easy cable routing (Please see UltraDigital option for SPDIF output)
Use an audiophile grade linear PSU or Uptone LPS1.2 for the lowest possible noise floor

What a revelation! - Howard - 19 November 2020
Recently purchased an Ultra Rendu for my second system and an Optical Rendu for my main system. I am ultra pleased with the results. Gone is the grey flatness of the computer USB output (direct to USB) and instead is a sound that is much more analogue. In fact, these renderers make listening to music a pleasure, something I thought I would never say ebout digital. An acid test is a piano recording. The piano on Diana Krall's 'Let's face the music and dance' used to "ring" I guess because of the digital distortion. Now, it just sounds like a piano should. Those sharp "digital"edges are gone; even most classic 60's recordings sound great (depending on the care taken over the digital cnversion and the quality of the A/D converter). The Sonore just seems to dig out more information from even CD's. I never realised that such a level of detail could be stored in 16/44. So, although not quite as simple to set up as products costing over four times as much, grab yourself a bargain and obtain a sound that elevates computer audio to a much much higher level. My system is now as good as (and possibly better than) anything I've heard at a Hi-Fi show. Check out what John Darko says about both Rendus. Thoroughly recommended.
UltraHappy with UltraRendu! - Mark Johnson - 13 March 2020
Having used an old SonicOrbiter SE a few years ago, I knew the quality of Sonore products was excellent, but I decided to opt for a less expensive alternative. I WISH I HADN'T...two months of trial and error with numerous technical support issues finally culminated in a return request. It was back on the telephone to Martin at Audiostore with tail between my legs admitting that I had made a terrible mistake. Luckily, he had stock of the UltraRendu and despatched a brand new unit with an iFi power supply that arrived the next working day. What can I say apart from...WOW! It has just transformed the overall sound of my system. It was easy to install and is running totally glitch free providing a wider sound stage with great warmth and musicality. Thanks for your patience Martin, but we got there eventually! Home system is as follows:- Intel NUC i7 with Roon Server & HQPlayer installed streaming Qobuz and local files to a TP Link switch in and out using Chord C Stream ethernet cables to the UltraRendu and out using Audioquest Carbon USB cable to a Chord Hugo TT used as a preamp to a Naim NAP 200 DR power amplifier feeding a pair of PMC Twenty 24's
Musical Music Streaming! - Bruce Low - 17 August 2017
I have been listening to Qobuz and Tidal and my local NAS via MacBook and high quality Asynchronous Moon 750D DAC and enjoyed the vast library at CD quality and above. However I felt there might be room for improvement and after following the developments online about improved clocking and power supplies in the Ultra I decided to give the Ultra a go. The setup was supported by Martin's advice, and was not complicated. (The next day I also setup Audirvana in my Mac which fed Qobuz and Tidal MQA to the Ultra via DLNA. Support and screenshots of settings from Sonore were readily available.)
The sound quality is delightful and there is no doubt whatsoever that the Ultra made an improvement in my setup. A return to the MacBook as renderer/USB feed confirmed a greyer sound with melody, space sucked out of the presentation. Back with the Ultra results in music where melodies are much more pronounced and the music sounded much more natural and a lot less fatiguing. Space, soundstaging are improved but the key thing is it sounds more like real, and more engaging and interesting music at that!
Martin's service and patience are a great asset!
